Outside

There are two sun-drenched terraces for al-fresco eating, the main terrace on the south facing side has the pergola, original pizza oven, barbecue and table and chairs.

A smaller terrace situated outside the kitchen is perfect for relaxing in the evening sun with a cocktail.

Next to the house is an enormous bay tree with a bench underneath, providing welcome, aromatic shade on hot days.

The swimming pool measures 5 x 14 metres and is just beneath the house on its own wide, stone-paved terrace – out of the wind, and ideal for basking in the glorious Tuscan sunshine. The views from here are panoramic. For those who prefer shade there is a large overhanging fig tree to one side and umbrellas. The shallow end has steps the width of the pool, ideal for young children. There is a convenient shower with hot water, and for anyone who fancies a night time swim the pool is lit inside and out.
